On November 19, 2025, Mayor Johnston signed an ordinance into law that established a maximum fine of $5,000 for violations of Denver’s residential rental licensing code.

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP) presented this proposal to the Finance and Business Committee on October 28, 2025.
