***If multiple rental units are in one building, the City of Denver requirement is for the single inspected unit to be chosen at random by the inspector upon showing up at the property. The license will apply to all units. All units must be made available and accessible for being possibly chosen for inspection.

For all residential rental properties where there is a below grade unit (basement or partially below ground), 5.3 (Free of Leaks in Below Grade Units) must be verified for all units that are being rented by the property owner seeking a license for those units, regardless of which units are randomly selected.

If the heating and hot water equipment for the entire building is inside of or accessed through a basement or below grade unit, then that equipment room must be made available for the inspection regardless of which units are randomly selected.
